Huawei Honor Holly gets priced in the UK, launches on March 6

After India, the Huawei Honor Holly is now ready to become available for sale in the UK too. It will be in stock at Amazon starting on March 6, and it's been priced at just £74.99.
The story behind that price is rather interesting, though. Huawei had a starting price of £109.99 in mind, but told people that it would lower that if they shared information about the handset on social media. The more shares, the lower the price. This campaign has now ended with the aforementioned level reached.

That's quite an innovative way of getting prospective customers involved in the pricing of a device, yet it has to be said that Huawei would have sold a much lower number of Honor Holly units had it stuck with its initial price level.
The phone comes with a 5-inch 720p touchscreen, an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, a 2MP secondary unit, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable built-in storage, and a 2,000 mAh battery. It's powered by the MediaTek MT6582 chipset, which sports a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU and a Mali-400MP2 GPU.
The Honor Holly runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat with Huawei's Emotion UI 2.3 on top. The main missing bit here is 4G LTE support, though dual-SIM functionality is baked in.

Kodak's IM5 Android smartphone to launch in UK soon

The Kodak IM5 Android smartphone, which was announced early last month, will first be launched in the UK. The device, costing £189.98 ($289), is up for pre-order on Clove, and is expected to be in stock in late March or early April, the British retailer says.
Specifications-wise, the device is powered by an unnamed 1.7 GHz octa-core processor, and sports a 5-inch 720p touchscreen. It has 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (expandable up to 32GB via MicroSD card), and runs Android 4.4 KitKat (with a Lollipop update on the cards).
In terms of camera, the smartphone features a 13 MP rear unit with LED flash, a 5 MP front snapper. You'll also get an app that will allow you to quickly edit photos, share them on social media, or directly print them.

Sony Xperia E4 goes on pre-order in the UK at £100

The Sony Xperia E4 quietly sneacked onto the stage yesterday and the announcement was so quick we didn’t even get a launch date and a price. Clove UK has answered both of these questions by putting the new handset on pre-order.
It's priced at £100 and will be available in late March. Clove also cleared up the OS situation – the Xperia E4 will launch with Android 4.4.4 KitKat and get 5.0 Lollipop later. Note that the price is for the single-SIM version, there's another one with two SIM slots but there's no price for it yet.

Expansys is also accepting pre-orders but hasn’t listed a price or a launch date. We couldn’t find it in other stores for now. Three UK has a post about it, which just speculates on price but points to mid-February as the launch window.

Sony SmartWatch 3 with a metal band goes on sale in the UK

Just as promised, the Sony SmartWatch 3 with a metal band starts selling in the UK from today.
Clove UK is the first store to offer the smartwatch. The price of the regular SmartWatch 3 is around the £180 ballpark, but its metal counterpart is slightly more expensive at. £ 215. Sony’s UK store as well asAmazon UK still haven’t listed pricing of the SmartWatch 3 with a metal band.
The smartwatch offers a 1.6″ transflective display with 320×320 pixel resolution. It’s waterproof with an IP68 rating and runs the latest version of Android Wear on a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU and 512MB of RAM. In addition to Bluetooth 4.0, the connectivity suite is enhanced with NFC, too. The battery is 420 mAh and is rated to last 2 days with normal use.

Oppo R5 is now available for pre-order in the UK

Oppo's brief world record holder for thinnest smartphone has shown up on Amazon's UK site and is now available for pre-order. The precious units are set to start shipping as early as February 20.
The Oppo R5 is a stylish midrange offering, packing a 5.2-inch FullHD display in a slender 4.85mm body. That wasn't thin enough, the competition deemed, and the R5 is now in third place behind theIvvi K1 Mini and the Vivo X5Max. That shouldn't make it any less desireable, though, as the two-tone aluminum body is a true stunner.
The rest of the Oppo R5 specs are not too shabby either. A Snapdragon 615 chipset is on board, featuring an octa-core processor, Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Where the R5 falls short is battery capacity, which at 2000mAh proves barely adequate for the screen size, but that's the trade-off for the super-thin profile.
The SIM-free Oppo R5 is listed at £296.99 but you can also claim a free Oppo powerbank with it to address the battery capacity issue.

Microsoft plans to make the phone available throughout February in more countries in Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa and the Middle East. The Lumia 435 is a budget-minded handset with a Snapdragon 200 chipset with a dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and a 4" LCD display (480 x 800 pixels).

Additional specifications of the Lumia 435 include a weight of 131.9g and a 1,560mAh battery, good for almost 12 hours of talk time or 21 hours if you're on 2G. The phone boasts 42.2Mbps downlink speeds over 3G, which is about as good as it gets pre-LTE.
