Screenshots allegedly show Sony Xperia Z4 Dual SIM UI

Several screenshots allegedly taken on an Xperia Z4 Dual give us a peek at the new UI coming from Sony and confirm that the flagship will have a dual-SIM version. One screenshot shows a Qualcomm MSM8994 chipset, aka Snapdragon 810, and Android 5.0.2.
The interface sticks very close to Material Design though Sony still made some modifications.

Alleged Sony Xperia Z4 Dual screenshots
The Sony Xperia Z4 and Z4 dual are supposed to have a 5.2" 1080p or QHD screen, Snapdragon 810 chipset with 3GB of RAM, 21MP camera, waterproof body and stereo speakers. With such a concentration of leaks, we would be very surprised not to see the Xperia Z4 at the MWC in Barcelona (the Xperia Z4 Compact, Z4 Ultra and Z4 Tablet should also be unveiled sooner or later).

New leaked cover might reveal more Huawei P8 features

Case manufacturers have long been an abundant source of leaks for expected devices and lately this seems to be truer than ever. Most of what we know about the physical appearance of the Galaxy S6and the HTC One (M9), currently the two most highly-anticipated devices has come from various case manufacturers, who are among the first in the industry with charts and dimensions for upcoming models.
In much the same fashion a new case leak allegedly holds new information about Huawei's next flagship device. Rumors state that the thin translucent case from the photos is designed to fit the Huawei P8.
If this is true then the small hunk of plastic reveals quite a bit about the future device. First of all the P8 should be impressively thin. On the right side of the case we find holes for what are undoubtedly the volume rockers and tight underneath that - the power button, so nothing extraordinary here.
What is truly interesting is the back side of the transparent bumper. It has two very distinct holes. One small in the far upper-left corner and one significantly bigger right in the center. Now this could be indicative of a lot of things and could very well mean nothing, but usually such a large space is left uncovered to accommodate something and not simply as a design element. One possible variant might be that the Huawei P8 will come with a dual-camera setup. Another option is a biometric sensor, perhaps a fingerprint scanner and heart-rate monitor.

As far as we know from previous leaks the P8 will be powered by Huawei’s latest Kirin 930 chipset, which is the first to be made using a 16nm process. It will sport a 5.2″ Full HD screen as well as dual cameras from the Honor 6 Plus (the device might even get an upgrade to dual-13MP main cameras), and will pack a 2,600mAh battery. It will come with double sided gorilla glass 3 protection and a ceramic uni-body design. At 6mm, it is said to be thinner than the iPhone 6, which is 6.9mm thick.

According to that very same rumor the device should be priced at RMB2,999($480) and be unveiled at a special event in London on April 15. The leaked specs did mention a fingerprint sensor, but it is not really visible in the accompanying image, especially where the case has left a whole to accommodate it.
There are, of course, countless possible reasons for the discrepancy, but until Huawei clears the smoke on the flagship on March 1, take it all with a bit of salt.

Samsung Norway website hints at possible Galaxy S6 features

Samsung's Norway website seems intent on spilling some of the beans regarding the upcoming Galaxy S6, slated to launch on March 1 in Barcelona.

The website asks "Is this the next Galaxy?", followed by three rumors. The first one is "One feature that we might see is forward-facing stereo speakers." The second one is "The new Galaxy is expected to be durable." And the third one is "Samsung Galaxy display is supposed to reach onto 3 sides."
What makes these features likely to be present is that they seem quite plausible and secondly, Samsung wouldn't mention them if it wasn't going to include them. The third one in particular refers to the curved edge screen, which we are pretty sure at this point will be present from all the teasers.
This makes us fairly certain that the stereo speakers and the rugged/water resistant body hinted by the website will also make it to the final product. So that's couple more reason to look forward to it, then.

HTC One (M9) images, specs leak in an online listing

HTC is ready to unveil the new HTC One smartphone on March 1 and the company can barely contain the excitement. Recently leaked specs state that the HTC One (M9) will feature a selfie camera in the front.
A German retailer Cyberport.de accidentally listed the HTC One (M9) along with images and specs, set to arrive on two color options - gunmetal grey with black accents and silver with gold accents. Now the images don't exactly align with previous leaks which showed new design for the speaker grilles so this might be a mere publicity stunt by the retailer.
Though the listing has been redacted now, the images and specs were already downloaded. Bearing a close resemblance to the HTC One (M8) design, the new One (M9) features 5-inch display and fresh batch of rumors based on leaked wallpapers point towards 1080p resolution. Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset, it packs 3GB RAM, 32GB on-board storage and up to 128GB microSD expansion support.
Measuring 9.61 mm thick, One (M9) will run Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7. In the front is a 4MP UltraPixel camera and at the back is a 20MP camera with dual-LED flash. HTC has packed 2900mAh battery to power this smartphone
We only have to wait until next Sunday for HTC to announce the One (M9) and confirm whether the info we've gather so far is authentic or not.

Microsoft Lumia 640 specs and price tag make the rounds

Purported specifications of the unannounced Microsoft Lumia 640 made the rounds online. Earlier today, the dual-SIM DTV variant of smartphone got caught in official regulatory paperwork in Brazil.
The Lumia 640 is tipped to pack Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 with quad-core CPU, 5” 720p display, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of expandable storage. An 8.7MP main camera with 0.9MP front-facing snapper are also rumored. The former could be the same unit as the one fond in Nokia Lumia 920.
Full connectivity suite is also going to be present in the Lumia 640, headed by LTE and NFC. Wireless charging support via a dedicated back cover is also rumored.
Microsoft Lumia 640 could be priced around $275 when it launches. The mid-ranger is all but certain to debut during MWC in Barcelona.

Documents connect RM-1109 to the unannounced Lumia 640

Less than a couple of weeks before the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona officially kicks off, information regarding a new Microsoft Lumia smartphone (model number: RM-1109) has surfaced.
According to Brazilian website JanelaTech, which cited documents from the country's regulatory agency Anatel, the device will be the Lumia 640 Dual SIM DTV. It is allegedly a dual SIM smartphone that sports integrated digital television (DTV) and supports 3G and Bluetooth 4.0. In addition, it was also revealed that the handset will be marketed with the following accessories: AC-20B charger, battery Lithium-T5C BV, and WH108 headset.
The Lumia 640 could be announced at the upcoming MWC given that Microsoft has only requested confidentiality for the device until March 13.

Huawei Ascend P8 prototype gets caught in live photos

Alleged live photos of a Huawei Ascend P8 prototype made the rounds online. The previously leaked, upcoming smartphone is wearing a case to conceal its sleek body.
In addition to the live images, a trio of AnTuTu screenshots captured from the device seemingly confirm its specs. They include Huawei’s own Kirin 930 64-bit chipset with oct-core CPU, 3GB of RAM, 13MP main camera, 8MP front-facing snapper, and Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Another purported screenshot from the device shows an AnTuTu score of 47,426. The latter puts the performance of Huawei Ascend P8 in the same ballpark as today’s crop of high-end smartphones.
Huawei Ascend P8 is expected to debut in April. Its rumored price tag is roughly $480.

Asus Zenfone ZE500CL with 5" 720p screen leaks

The Zenfone 2 is not a phone, but more like a collection of similar phones. Two 5.5" models are already official, but a leak points to an incoming 5" device. And that's not the rumored the MediaTek-poweredZenfone 2.
The Asus Zenfone 2 ZE500CL is still Intel Atom based – Z2560 Clover Trail quad-core at 1.6GHz – and has 2GB of RAM. It will launch with Android 5.0 Lollipop and bring an 8MP camera with 1080p video and a 2MP selfie camera (down from 13MP/5MP).

5" Asus Zenfone 2 next to the 5.5" model

The screen has also been cut back, the 5" IPS LCD will have 720p resolution. The smaller screen makes the phone more compact, though it's not the smallest 5-incher around, not the thinnest or lightest either at 10.9mm and 155g respectively.
The Asus Zenfone 2 ZE500CL will come with 16GB of expandable storage, a single microSIM slot with LTE connectivity and a non-removable 2,500mAh battery.
These specs are all unofficial, of course, but we may see it in March at the MWC. With the lower specs it should cost less than the $200 that Asus is asking for the 5.5" model with 1.8GHz CPU and 2GB of RAM (which also has a sharper screen, better cameras and dual-SIM connectivity).

Alleged wallpaper image from HTC One M9 leaks out

Alleged wallpaper from the upcoming HTC One M9 made the rounds on Twitter. The image seems to confirm that the Taiwanese manufacturer’s next flagship will pack 1080p display.

HTC One M9 wallpaper (click to view in full size)
The image has a size of 1920 x 2160 pixels. It reveals that users will be able to make the wallpaper scrollable if they desire.
HTC One M9 will debut in less than two weeks, on March 1 in Barcelona. Rumored specs of the smartphone include 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, 3GB of RAM, and Android 5.0 Lollipop.

HTC One (M9) leaked cases confirm lack of Duo camera

Case manufacturers have become a reliable source of intel on future smartphones, and Amazon is currently flooded with optional protection for the yet-to-be-announced HTC One (M9) flagship. Unlike the case with the Samsung Galaxy S6 where precise dimensions were stated, HTC's covers are less revealing.

HTC One (M9) cases
One thing that appears certain at this point it the lack of a dual camera, as the back of all cases sports a single large cutout for the lens and flash arrangement. That was a common theme of all previous leaks, so we can can safely assume that HTC will go with a conventional camera this time around.
While the back has been pretty much settled, a few manufacturers seem to have missed the memo on the new speakers design. Some of the models have carried over the One (M8) grille placement in the renders instead of the thin slits towards the edges, that are believed to feature in the next generation.
It's unlikely they've mass produced the wrong case, though. More realistically, companies have chosen the safe side and stuck with an official image of the predecessor, instead of breaching confidentiality agreements and revealing something ahead of launch.

Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 appears in official documentation

Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 appeared in official OEM documentation. The Windows Phone update is expected to launch soon as developer preview for users running version 8.1 GDR1.
Windows Phone 8.1 GDR2 will bring a couple of new features to the platform. They include support for video over LTE, the ability to route an SMS message to a partner application, and a few new phone languages.
Previously rumored, notable omissions in the update include Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 and 2K display support. Microsoft has saved those for Windows 10.
Microsoft recently released a ”very early” Windows 10 technical preview for smartphones. However, its availability is limited to relatively small number of devices.

HTC One (M9) Hima leak reveals all key specs

The specifications of the soon-to-be-revealed HTC One M9 (Hima) have leaked here and there, but now we have the full list of the phone's features thanks to the detective work of upleaks.
The phone is built around a 5" IPS display and packs 1080p resolution. At the back, the 20.7MP camera is confirmed and it will sport dual LED flash. For now, there's no information whether it'll record 4K video, but we will be surprised if it doesn't.
At the front, it will be backed by a 4MP UltraPixel camera, probably the same as the One (M8)'s. Contrary to previous rumors, the latest leak doesn't suggest a dual 20.7MP camera configuration at the back.
The HTC One (M9) draws processing power from a 64-bit Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) chipset with a 2.0GHz quad-core Cortex-57 and a quad-core Cortex-A53 running at 1.5GHz. There's 3GB of fast DDR4 RAM and graphics are handled by the Adreno 430 GPU. HTC will offer the One (M9) in 32GB and 64GB flavors and the phone will run Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with Sense 7.0 out of the box.
We saw an allegedly official photo of the One (M9) next to the One (M9) Plus and caught the nicely designed BoomSound speaker holes. LTE 6 support will give users up to 300Mbps download and 50Mbps upload speeds. On the side, there's a microSD card slot.
The battery of the HTC One (M9) is 2,840mAh, which is 240mAh larger than its predecessor. We're yet to see how much of a difference this will make in our battery test. As a reminder, the One (M8) scored an endurance rating of 77 hours.
Upleaks reports three variations of the One (M9) - UHL, which will launch in Asia, Europe, Africa, UAE, Russia, Turkey, China(Mainland), USA(include AT&T, T-Mobile US, and Developer model), Canada(include ROGERS, TELUS), Latin America; the WHL for Sprint and China Telecom; and the WL for Verizon.
Finally, we have information regarding the accessories and their model numbers:
  • HTC DotView 2 (with more colors than before) – HC
  • M231/232
  • Clear Case – HC C1153
  • Stand Case – HC K1150
  • Waterproof Case(has IP68 rating) – HC C1152
  • Waterproof Headset – RC E250
  • Headset 2015 – MAX 500
  • HTC BoomBass with WiFi support (requires Sense 7)
  • Screen Protector – SP R230A
HTC's March 1 press event called "Utopia in progress" will reveal the rest of the new features the company has been working on.

Gionee Elife S7 future flagship leaks showing very thin body

Competing for the title of "World's thinnest smartphone" seems to be an ongoing venture for many Chinese manufacturers. And while major mobile players mostly steer clear from this particular contest Asian manufacturers have been battling long and hard to top each-other's razor-thin creations.

Gionee started it all with the Elife S5.1, measuring only 5.15 mm and now intends to get back in the game. That particular handset was quickly surpassed by the Oppo R5 with a 4.85 mm body, followed by the 4.8 mm Vivo X5 Max and most recently the Ivvi K1 Mini, measuring only 4.7 mm. Gionee's next big flagship device made it through the cracks today ant it seems that the new device, dubbed Elife S7 is once again reaching for the gold in the slim profile race.

A few leaked pictures from China seem to show a Gionee Elife S7 unit and it looks incredibly thin. Reports say it measures in at 4.6 mm. This is kind of an odd deviation from the company's current rather clever scheme of naming their devices after their z-measure, namely the Elife S5.5, which spouts a 5.5mm and the aforementioned Elife S5.1 as well. Logic would dictate that a S7 model number would indicate a pretty fat handset or at least one with a 7-inch display, but neither seems to be true about the smartphone judging by the images.

Gionee has already sent out invitations for its MWC 2015 event and the Elife S7 will indeed be unveiled at the Barcelona venue on March 2. Whether or not it will break the current size record is still unclear so the above leak and device should be taken with a grain of salt.

Antutu score leak shows Galaxy S6 beastly performance

The hype around Samsung's next highly-anticipated flagship is at an all-time high and various leaks and rumors keep flooding in. The enthusiasm in really overwhelming and there's enough new info to feed the fire.
From what we have heard the Galaxy S6 will be a truly impressive device, especially in terms of hardware performance. Today brings a new AnTuTu benchmark leak which is slightly different that the once we have already seen, but more importantly this time it is accompanied by an alleged test score.

Rumors of Qualcomm loosing a major customer in the face of Samsung seem to bear a lot of credibility as the Korean giant will most likely rely solely on its Exynos SoC for the Galaxy S6. The in-house silicon in question should be the Exynos 7420, complete with 3GB of RAM and a Mali-T760 GPU. This is pretty apparent from the leaked specs sheet and coincides with previous rumors..
Looking at the test results the octa-core Exynos 7420, clocked at 2.1GHz is definitely a beast and crunches numbers like nothing we have seen so far. The Samsung Galaxy S6 managed to earn a 60,978 Antutu score. This is way beyond anything that has been achieved to date with a Snapdragon 810 or a Mediatek CPU for that matter so Samsung may have a firm lead on performance with their new chip.

The impressive performance of the four Cortex-A57 and four Cortex-A53 CPU cores surely comes at price, namely higher power consumption and heat output. Samsung may have employed a 14nm production process in the chip, which could definitely account for some of the performance boost. Nevertheless the Exynos 7420 looks like an unbelievable powerhouse and these AnTuTu results only prove the amazing Geekbench performance we saw from the chip a few days ago.
Hopefully the new Galaxy S6 and its edged variant can translate these numbers into amazing real-world performance. For now we can just wait until the devices hopefully become a reality on March 1 at MWC.

Lumia 532 could soon go on sale in India

The Microsoft Lumia 532, which was unveiled last month, may go on sale in India soon, given that its stock has started arriving in the country, as revealed by import tracking website Zauba (see the below image).

According to NPU, which first broke the news, the entry-level device may get priced somewhere between INR 6,999 ($112) and INR 7,499 ($120), and could be released in 2-3 weeks.
As for the specifications, the device is powered by a version of the Snapdragon 200 chipset with a quad-core CPU ticking at 1.2GHz. It sports a 4-inch display of 800x480 pixel resolution, and comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (expandable up to 128GB via a MicroSD card). A 30GB OneDrive cloud storage is also included.
The smartphone features a 5MP main camera, and a VGA front shooter. It packs a 1,560mAh battery in a an all-plastic body, weighing 136.3g.

HTC might be working on its very own 'Nexus 9' based android tablet ,upleaks depicts

After making the Nexus 9 for Google, HTC is allegedly working on its own branded tablet, which will be based on the Nexus 9.
According to upleaks, the tablet will have similar dimensions as the Nexus 9, meaning a 9-inch display, probably with the same 4:3 aspect ratio. However, the hardware specifications will be different.
The tablet is also not expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2015.
HTC hasn’t had the best track record when it comes to tablets. The first tablet, the HTC Flyer, came at a time when Android tablets were trying to get a foothold in the market, and didn’t quite fly with the customers. The second one, the HTC Jetstream, was such a colossal failure most people don’t even know it exists. The Nexus 9 is by far the most successful HTC tablet, which isn’t saying much.
Big, expensive Android tablets are still trying to be relevant in the market, and Samsung seems to be the only one who has had some luck with them. Hopefully, HTC will make a better effort with its upcoming tablet, as the Nexus 9 surely didn’t feel like a premium tablet, despite its price

More bundled images of Samsung Galaxy S6 in a case make the rounds again

More images of Samsung Galaxy S6 in a protective case made the rounds online. The latest batch of renders showcase the upcoming flagship smartphone wearing a rugged cover.
In line with past leaks, the images once again showcase the new spot of the heart-rate sensor and the camera flash on the device. The newcomer will have the setup on the right side of its camera as opposed to below it in the Galaxy S5.
Samsung Galaxy S6 will debut on March 1 in Barcelona alongside an Edge variant.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab A Plus have detailed specs leaked

After having introduced us to a few new smartphone lines (A, E, and J so far), Samsung is apparently looking to use some new brands for its upcoming tablets too. According to a new rumor, we’ll soon see the Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab A Plus lines on the market.

Though if you were expecting some high-end beasts, we’re sorry to disappoint. These will allegedly be nothing more than midrange offerings, perhaps meant to succeed the Galaxy Tab 4 line (of which the 10.1-inch tablet is pictured above). That said, the new devices will boast some intriguing features nevertheless.
For instance, the A Plus devices will come with the S Pen stylus – a first for any Samsung product not named Note, and also a first for such low-end tablets. And something else is new, too – all of these models will have touchscreens with 4:3 aspect ratios, just like the iPads and the HTC Nexus 9. It looks like Samsung was quick to embrace Google’s new direction in this space, dropping the 16:10 aspect ratio that’s been prevalent in the Android world since the first tablets came out.
The Galaxy Tab A and Tab A Plus will both come in two sizes, 8″ and 9.7″. Their specs will mostly be identical, save for the inclusion of the S Pen stylus in the Plus models, as well as slightly more RAM (2GB as opposed to 1.5GB). The battery capacity for the 9.7-inch tablets will also be higher than that for the smaller ones, naturally (we’re looking at 4,200 mAh and 6,000 mAh cells, respectively).
The screen resolution in all cases will be 1,024×768, identical to that employed by the first generation iPadand iPad Mini. Running the show for the 8″ models will be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset, with a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU in tow, while the 9.7-inch tablets are reportedly going to employ the yet unknown APQ8016 part from the same maker, again coupled with a 1.2 GHz processor.
As for cameras, a 5 MP rear snapper will be on the back, and a 2 MP unit on the front of all the A devices. Built-in internal storage will be 16GB, which we assume will be expandable through the use of microSD cards this being Samsung and all. The slates will be just 7.4mm thin, and will have both Wi-Fi-only and LTE-enabled variants.

Rumor: Galaxy S Edge screen to be less curvy than Note Edge

The rumor mill is abuzz with Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S Edge tips and leaks. Reportedly the Galaxy S6 and S Edge bodies will be uniformly colored, with the same texture on the front. Apparently even the camera module will get a paint job, it's normally black regardless of the phone's color.

Both new Galaxy S flagships will reportedly have metal unibodies and schematics show the Galaxy S6 will be pretty thin, 6.9mm. The camera will protrude though.
As for the Galaxy S Edge, it will have Edge display on both sides. They will be 30% to 50% less curved than on the Galaxy Note, because it's a smaller handset and it has to accommodate Power and Volume buttons on the sides.

HTC One (M9) leaked again, this time in a Dot View case

The HTC One (M9) is due to be officially announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in the beginning of March. Still, we're only a few leaks away from being able to draw a complete picture of the upcoming flagship.
This next piece of the puzzle is brought to us by an HTC employee, who chose (or was he encouraged?) to share live images of a Dot View case on Chinese social site Weibo. HTC's official case, photographed from the back, confirms the large camera lens, that's been also visible in numerous previous leaks.

HTC One (M9) Dot View case • Render, based on latest rumors
The front raises a few questions, though. A recent supposedly official image showed the selfie camera placed along the central axis of the phone. The pictured Dot View case, however, has the cutout on the front slightly to the right. It's not in the same position as the One (M8) so that's not the previous generation case, either.
We recently showed you the chassis of the One (M9) in gold attire as well as aftermarket protective cases, both confirming the large camera lens on the back. However, not a single live image has surfaced of the front just yet, so HTC might surprise us after all.
