WorkMail by Amazon wants to take on Microsoft Exchange
Amazon Web Services introduced secure email and calendar client for business. Dubbed WorkMail, the solution aims to take on the likes of Microsoft Exchange and Google Gmail.
WorkMail is priced at $4 per month for each user. It undercuts both Google’s corporate email and Microsoft Office 365 business email (both cost $5 a month per user).
Amazon’s latest creation will offer shared inboxes and calendars, as well as the option for a company-wide address book. Deep encryption with private keys will be available; users will also be able to pick the geographic region where their email data will be stored.
Users will be able to access Amazon WorkMail on iOS, Android, Amazon Fire, and Windows Phone devices. Microsoft Outlook users on Mac and PC will be able to continue using the popular email client with the new service. Amazon will have its own solution available as well.
